This well-established Injection Moulding Manufacturer is currently seeking an Injection Moulding Toolmaker with an automotive background to join their business, working on a double day's basis. As Injection Moulding Toolmaker your duties will include:- * Ensuring that wherever possible, the repair and maintenance of production tools is carried out in line with production requirement in the allocated time frame * Modifying tools as required by business or customer request * Producing new tools, moulds and hot plate welding jigs in line with project and business objectives * Testing and confirming electrical and hydraulic/pneumatic operation of tools before return to production * Maintaining the highest standard of workmanship at all times * Recording all relevant data pertaining to tooling and record onto the Toolroom database * Having an active involvement in improvement activities to support the achievement of departmental and company objectives * Being proactive in making tooling modifications to improve scrap cycle time and tool reliability * Ensuring that housekeeping within the area is maintained in a satisfactory condition * Ensuring a safe working environment exists for self and colleagues To be suitable for the role of Injection Moulding Toolmaker, the ideal candidate will have:– * Comprehensive knowledge of ‘Hot runner systems’ i.e. Mould masters & HRS * Tig welding skills and certification * Demonstrate excellent bench ‘hand skills’ i.e. filing and forming * Capable of polishing to 3 micron mirror finish * An apprentice-served Toolmaker, preferably with an ONC/HNC in Mechanical Engineering, with at least 5 years previous experience of injection mould tools. This well-established Injection Moulding Manufacturer is currently seeking a Moulding Engineer with an automotive background to join their business, working on a day's basis. As Moulding Engineer your duties will include:- * Introduction of moulding processes & equipment that meet with customer and company quality requirements * Setting & maintaining quality standards for moulding quality in conjunction with internal quality Dept * Introduction of equipment and ancillary’s necessary for the moulding of quality components, project managing their introduction from design & feasibility through to installation & commissioning * Ensuring that moulding machine programmes used for product manufacture are developed and controlled * Ensuring equipment is introduced that produces quality parts and meets KEL company philosophies of SMED, production system * Communicating & managing equipment suppliers so that KEL are supported with the necessary equipment to produce quality parts in line project timing * Working in conjunction with tooling engineer following KEL tooling procedures including off-site sign-off (overseas travel required- Europe/Far East) * Supervising and carrying out tool trials either individually or in conjunction with Technicians, raise appropriate documentation & manage corrective actions & maturation of products & projects * Leading improvement teams for moulding processes * Being an active member of the design feasibility team, raising DSR documentation for Design review meetings * Being an active member of tooling feasibility reviews * Maintaining a Tool book / Trial report, PFMEA, Process flow & other standard company documentation for each part containing the relevant information * Communicating by written and verbal means using the Company communication channels to ensure the understanding of colleagues and management To be suitable for the role of Moulding Engineer, the ideal candidate will:– * Be able to generate tool trials reports and process capability data, corrective action reports, including overall planning for trial/supplier timing plans, other presentation materials * Have the ability to contribute / lead Process FMEA teams. As Assembly Project Engineer your duties will include:- * Introducing new project into assembly from feasibility stage through to production * Keeping track of both customer and supplier timing plans and schedules * Keeping within project budget * Understanding of work balance * Producing documentation: FMEA, work instruction, job element sheets and parameter sheets * Commissioning new tooling and optimise settings * Working in partnership with the Assembly managers, understand or define the optimal performance level of each manufacturing cell and provide engineering support to achieve targets * Monitoring / reporting and improving cell up time to optimal levels * Ensuring the targets stated from new cell introduction are achieved or project managed * Providing trouble-shooting and technical support for the shift * Training operators with new machinery, products and methods * Having an awareness of health and safety standards and ensure they are maintained at all times by all employees and contractors * Communicating by written and verbal means using the Company communication channels to ensure the understanding of colleagues and management * Having an active involvement in improvement activities to support the achievement of departmental and company objectives * Developing project objectives by reviewing customer timing plan * Determining project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards; completing technical studies; preparing cost estimates.
