Design Engineer South Shropshire Permanent Up to £36,000 per annum 40 hours per week This is a fantastic job opportunity to work for a longstanding, heavy industry manufacturer based within the South Shropshire area. The Design Engineer will join an existing design team and be responsible for the design of new and existing products using Solidworks CAD. Responsibilities will include: * Product design of new products as well as modification to existing products * Production of detailed assembly and parts drawings * Producing accurate BOM and specifications for each design * Create detailed component part and/or assembly drawings to assist production with building of products. * Specifies required material and liaises with vendors to supply specified parts/components. * Communication project status on a weekly basis * Assist with prototype and field testing new products and evaluating performance. * Supports marketing efforts by attending sales shows, operating and demonstrating products designed. You will be qualified to HNC level in Mechanical Engineering, be competent in using Solidworks and have previously designed welded fabrications. You will need to have excellent problem solving skills and be able to take manufacturing processes into account in the design process.
